Notes from the Mayor
Bogata Fest is this Saturday. There will be food, fun and fellowship at Thomas Park.Festivities begin at 11:00 am.I hopeyou will have a chance to get out and join in the fun.
The bid packets have been completed to have the old nursing home demolished and removed.Completed bid packets are to be received by 2:00 pm on May 2, 2019.
Stray dogs and cats have been the topic of discussions at the City.If a stray dog or cat comes to your home, contact City Hall to have the animal removed. You must call the day the animal shows up.When you provide food, water, and/or shelter for an animal you are caring for it.Once the animal is under your care, you become responsible for the animal.
The City provides a roll off dumpster for the convenience of all of our citizens. The purpose of this dumpster is for large everyday items that will not fit in your weekly poly cart (trash can).If you plan on remodeling, tearing down, or emptying out a recently purchased property, please contact Sanitations Solutions to reserve a dumpster that meets the needs of your project.
With all of this rain and warm weather there is no doubt we will find plenty of mosquitoes. One way to help prevent mosquitoes is to remove standing water.Dump out water from tires, cans, buckets, etc.The City has been told that the rule of thumb on standing water is 7 days.If water can stand for 7 days, the larvae will be allowed to hatch and become mosquitoes.
As a reminder the Election will be on May 4, 2019 from 7am to 7pm at the Community Center.Early voting will be held at City Hall from April 22 - April 30 on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm with extended hours on April 22 and April 30 from 7 am to 7pm.Please get out and vote.
Have a safe and Happy Easter.
