“All powers of the City of Bogata, Texas, shall be vested in and executed by the Local Governing Council consisting of Five Members and a Mayor, elected as hereinafter provided for in the Local Government Codes and the State of Texas. The city of Bogata is a Type A General Law city.
Elections
- The City Council and the Mayor are elected for two-year alternating terms. All positions are At-Large, meaning they are elected on a city-wide basis. City elections take place on the first Saturday of May each year, with Council members for Places 1,3 and 5 elected on Even years, while Council members for Places 2, 4 and the Mayor on Odd years.

Notice is hereby given that the polling places listed below will be open from 7:00 am. to 7:00 pm. on May 3, 2025, for voting in a general election to elect Seat 2, Seat 4, and Mayor’s office positions for 2-year terms. (Notifiquese, Por la presente se notifica que los lugares de votación que se enumeran a continuación estarán abiertos a partir de las 7:00 am. a las 7:00 pm. el 3 de mayo de 2025, para votar en una elección general para elegir los 4 puestos de los miembros del consejo.

Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted each weekday at

Notice of Deadline to File Applications for Place on the Ballot has been posted at City Hall. The notice is applicable to the Feb 15, 2025, general election for two (2-year) positions on the City Council and the Mayoral position of Bogata, Texas.

- Due to the fact that none of the candidates who signed up to run for the positions in the 2025 election cycle, running an election is unnecessary. Those listed above who signed up to run will be voted in by acclamation.
